Shoplifter jailed after stealing hundreds of pounds of power tools from a store in Peterborough
A shoplifter has been jailed after stealing hundreds of pounds of power tools in Peterborough.
Police say that Roman Horvat (29) went into B&Q, in Maskew Avenue, Peterborough, and walked out with £130 worth of power tools.
Cambridgeshire police say that Horvat returned to the shop just weeks later and stole a further £255 worth of tools before being arrested by the police spree offender team.
A police spokesperson said: “Horvat was found in possession of cocaine and a flick knife.”

Horvat, of Scotney Street, New England, Peterborough, was jailed for four months at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court on January 22, after he admitted the offences, which occurred on December 29 and January 21, as well as the theft of diffusers from Next, in Brotherhood Retail Park, Peterborough.
Afterwards, PC Sam Malton, who investigated, said: “Horvat brazenly picked up the items and walked straight out without trying to conceal them.
“There is no excuse when it comes to carrying a knife, and I am glad we were able to seize it before it could potentially be used in crime.”
