Fenland drug dealer sentenced after police raid uncovers cannabis grow at his home
A drug dealer from Fenland has received his second prison sentence this year after police found cannabis plants at his home.
Paddy Beart, 21, was arrested on 30 May last year, after neighbourhood officers from Cambridgeshire Police carried out a warrant at his home in Creek Road, March.
Twelve cannabis plants with a street value of up to £10,000 were seized, along with cannabis buds worth up to £90.
“Analysis of Beart’s phone data revealed he was heavily involved in the distribution of both class A and class B drugs in March,” a force spokesperson said.

“There were also messages indicating he was high up in the supply chain, with him paying other people to deliver drugs and instructing those involved in the drugs line."
Beart appeared at Peterborough Crown Court on Thursday (11 December), where he was sentenced to two years and 11 months in a young offenders institution for being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of cannabis, and production of cannabis. This will run concurrent to the prison sentence he is currently serving.
Detective Constable Rhian Batterham-Jones, who investigated, said: “This is the second time this year that Beart has been convicted for drugs offences, after he was jailed alongside his brother in April.
“The hard work of our neighbourhood team shows the community that we listen to their concerns and will continue taking drug dealers off the streets.”
