Drug dealer jailed for more than two years after being caught selling heroin and crack cocaine in the Peterborough area

A drug dealer has been jailed after being caught selling heroin and crack cocaine in the Peterborough area.

Police say they uncovered Kane Haynes’ (26) drug dealing when they seized his mobile phone after stopping him as he drove through Peterborough.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police said: “Analysis of phones linked to Haynes showed they had been used to send out bulk messages regarding the sale of heroin and crack cocaine.”

The police say that Haynes had been driving a Ford Kuga, in Wainman Road, Woodston, Peterborough, when he was stopped by officers on October 28.

The spokesperson said: “He attempted to grab a red iPhone on the passenger seat, but a police officer managed to retrieve it and Haynes was arrested.”

Haynes, of Harrier Way, Market Deeping, admitted being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin and on January 23 was jailed for two years and six months at Cambridge Crown Court.

Afterwards, DC Tom Corbett said: “Although no class A drugs were recovered, it was clear from phone evidence that Haynes was involved in supplying these substances.

“Crack cocaine and heroin ruin lives by trapping people in addiction and can cause misery for communities with associated anti-social behaviour and crime.”

Anyone with information concerning drug dealing can report it online to Cambridgeshire Constabulary, or Crimestoppers anonymously.
