Drug dealer jailed after being found with class A drugs and about £18,000 in cash at his Peterborough home
A drug dealer who was found with a stash of class A drugs and about £18,000 in cash at his home in Peterborough has been jailed.
A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire police said that a search of James Donovan’s flat at Guthrie House, in Bretton, had revealed class A drugs under kitchen cabinets as well as drugs paraphernalia and the stash of cash.
He said that as police arrived at Donovan’s flat on August 1, officers had seen him leaving the premises and getting into a car but he was stopped and searched by the officers.
The spokesperson said that police had found a bag of cocaine, diazepam and cannabis and then went on to search the flat.

Donovan (35) pleaded guilty to four counts of possession with intent to supply a class A drug, including cocaine, heroin, and MDMA, one count of possession with intent to supply cannabis and amphetamine, possession with intent to supply diazepam, and possession of criminal property. He was sentenced to four years and four months in prison at Cambridge Crown Court on December 22. Afterwards, DC Nik Loizou, who investigated said: “Donovan was found in possession of a considerable quantity of drugs and cash and will now spend a significant time behind bars.
"We will continue to identify those responsible for supplying these harmful substances and ensuring they are brought before the courts.”
