Drink driver who crashed into cars in Peterborough street is disqualified
A driver who crashed into two cars in a Peterborough street while nearly twice the legal limit has been banned from driving for more than a year, police have said.
Cambridgeshire Constabulary said Igoris Fromicius, 45, was driving a BMW 520D M Sport in Fulbridge Road, New England, when he struck the vehicles on the afternoon of 14 December.
“He failed a roadside breath test and then gave an evidential sample of 65, almost double the legal limit of 35,” a force spokesperson explained.
“Fromicius, of Peveril Road, Millfield, Peterborough, admitted drink driving and was banned from driving for 18 months and handed a £120 fine at Peterborough Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (17 December).”

PC Scott Giles, who investigated, commented: “Getting behind the wheel of a car while intoxicated is extremely reckless and, while fortunately no one was injured in these collisions, two cars were damaged.
“I would urge anyone planning to have a drink to arrange an alternative mode of transport.”
The force operates a dedicated, confidential hotline – 0800 032 0845 – which is available 24/7 and allows the reporting of those believed to be driving under the influence.
