Car fires keep Peterborough firefighters busy
While a large number of fire fighters tackled a large blaze in Bretton on Saturday night and Sunday morning which resulted in dozens of residents being frced to leave their homes, there were a number of other fires over the weekend.

Hide AdAt 2.23am on Sunday (16) a crew from Whittlesey was called to a fire on Francis Gardens in Dogsthorpe, Peterborough.
Firefighters arrived to find a car on fire. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a hose reel and returned to their station by 4am.

At 11.14am on Saturday (15) a crew from Whittlesey was called to a fire on Benwick Road in Whittlesey.
Firefighters arrived to find a car well alight. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using hose reels and returned to their station by 12.30pm.
At 11.26pm on Saturday (15) crews from March were called to a fire on Whittlesey Road in March.

Hide AdFirefighters arrived to find a fire involving electrics in a large warehouse use for crop storage. Wearing breathing apparatus they extinguished the fire using a carbon dioxide extinguisher and returned to their station by 2.45pm.
The building was reinspected the following morning to ensure the fire was fully out.
And at 2.31pm on Saturday (15) a crew from Chatteris was called to a fire on London Road in Chatteris.
Firefighters arrived to find a large fire involving rubbish and extinguished it using a hose reel. They returned to their station by 4.15pm.
