Car catches fire after collision with HGV

A car caught fire after colliding with an HGV.

The blaze occurred in Stocking Fen Road, Ramsey, on Friday afternoon.

A fire crew from Ramsey was sent to the scene at 2.10pm where it discovered that all people were out of the vehicles on arrival.

The firefighters were then able to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters were also called out at 12.40am on Saturday morning to a car fire in Toll Road, Whittlesey, which was also caused by a road collision, and to a garage fire in Harn Road, Hampton Vale, at 12.27am on Saturday.

All three fires were started accidentally, a Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said.
