Birds get a winter treat from Hampton youngsters
As part of a Frozen Planet topic, Reception children at Hampton Vale Primary School have been been finding out what it is like in cold countries and how the winter weather affects the climate and animals.
They also discovered more about how the colder and more wintery weather affects their own community and the local wildlife. Birds in particular find it very difficult to find the food they need in the winter so children made ‘fat ball’ bird feeders using lard and bird seed and hung them up around the James’ Pond circuit in Hampton.
