A47 near Peterborough to remain closed until 7pm following serious collision

Police have said the A47 near Peterborough is set to remain closed until around 7pm following a collision between two lorries and a car.

The collision happened at about 12.30pm today (28 January), involved two HGVs and a car.

Paramedics and fire crews also attended the scene. At least one person has been seriously injured, but further details are unclear at this stage.

The road has been closed in both directions from the A1 junction at Wansford to Sutton Heath Road.

A police spokesman said: "A47 closed at Sutton due to a serious collision. Closure expected until at least 1900hrs to allow investigation and recovery. Please plan an alternative route.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the crash. Anyone who witnessed the collision is should call police on 101 or visit www.cambs.police.uk/report quoting incident 203 of 28 January.
