Fairtrade Peterborough is calling on ethically-conscious shoppers to venture onto Traidcraft’s website where they can buy a range of products which will support farmers and producers across the planet.

The charity arm of the company helps new producers step up to international quality standards so they can become full Fairtraders.

Beki Sellick, a campaigner with Fairtrade Peterborough, said: “Fear not, as the angels didn’t quite say, even though the cathedral’s Fairtrade stall remains closed as you can still buy ‘right’ online.

“It’s over a year since we celebrated achieving Fairtrade City status for Peterborough, back in pre-Covid days.

“Of course, the pandemic is affecting people throughout the world, with the biggest impact on people who are already struggling. Fairtrade provides a lifeline of a guaranteed income for farmers and producers in developing countries - all they need is for us to choose guaranteed Fairtrade goods.
