Russell Watson cancels sell-out Peterborough concert

A sell-out Russell Watson gig at Peterborough's Cresset on Friday has been cancelled due to the singer's illness.

Management at the venue are currently trying to contact ticketholders to inform them of the cancellation and refund details.

A Cresset spokesman said: “We are sorry to announce that unfortunately Russell has a throat infection and has been advised by his doctor not to sing.

“It is with regret that he will be unable to perform at the show in Peterborough this Friday.

“As you can imagine Russell and his team are deeply upset about this and we can only apologise for any disappointment or inconvenience this may cause.

“It is unlikely that the show will be rescheduled and therefore if you have tickets for Friday’s performance, your tickets will be refunded. If you paid by credit or debit card we will contact you by telephone to arrange this refund. If you paid for your tickets with cash you will need to call in to the Box Office with the tickets in order to receive your refund.”
