SHADOW This delightful girl came ino our care extremely underweight after she was found abandoned in a property without food or water. Shadow is very friendly towards all humans, her little tail never stops wagging! We have vvery little history of what her life was like prior to coming to us but she appears to have had some basic training at some point in her life. Shadow spends her days in our Deputy Manager's office, she loves being in the warm and can often be found on her bed chewing her bone. Here are eight dogs in and around the Peterborough area that are looking for a new home.

The Peterborough Telegraph is running regular spotlights on cats that need new homes to support the work of animal charities in the Peterborough area.

The Peterborough and District Branch of the RSPCA do so much to rescue, nurture and subsequently rehome all kinds of pets in the area. They have continued to operate throughout lockdown and within a small radius are still permitted to rehome these animals.

Below are a selection of those that have been rescued and are in need of their forever home.

**Bruno has very specific requirements, please read them fully and only apply if you fit the criteria** This handsome boy came into our care after he was seized by the police along with multiple other dogs. The conditions the dogs were living in were pretty awful. We have no idea how long they had been living like this nor do we have any history to say whether or not they have ever lived in a home environment. Bruno is athletic and active with bags of energy. He¿s a lot of fun! On walks his nose is constantly working and he¿s really responsive to training. He knows some basic commands: Sit, down, wait, come and watch me. Bruno was rehomed by us recently but sadly returned a short time later due to some behavioural issues. We are therefore looking for experienced new owners who will initially work alongside our behaviour team to give Bruno the best possible start in his new home.

**Amelie has been returned to our centre due to her behaviour around other dogs, please read her write up fully before applying to rehome her as she has some very specific requirements** This little sweetie arrived in our care as she was found living in unsuitable conditions. It's quite possible that poor Amelie has never lived in a home before and will therefore quite possibly need full training from scratch. On arrival, it was discoverd that Amelie was struggling with her breathing and has since gone on to have BOAS surgery at one of our animal hospitals to help her cope better. This has given Amelie a much better quality of life however new owners will need to monitor her breathing in the future especially during the summer months.

This sweet girl is Skye. She came into our care after being found as a stray. Whilst small for her breed, she certainly makes up for it in personality. This cheeky girl loves to play and run about! She is incredibly gentle natured and will offer you a paw in exchange for a fuss. Skye has a deformed front leg, we believe her leg has more than likely been like this her whole life. Although it's a little strange to look at, it doesn't cause her any problems at the moment and she actually uses it especially when she is running! Skye can be quite strong on the lead. Because of this, we have trained her to walk on a headcollar. This makes her a lot easier to walk. She will need to continue this training with her adopters. Skye shows little interest in other dogs and shows no aggression. After a quick hello, she will continue on her way. Because of this, we think she would prefer to be the only dog in the home.
