Since the beginning of the pandemic, so many have relied on the unconditional love that comes from owning a pet, with March 2020 seeing a surge in dog ownership.
One charity that has been able to stay open and be there for pets and their owners in Wood Green, The Animals Charity based on Kings Bush Farm, Godmanchester.
The centre remains open to the public by appointment only and specialises in treating and rehabilitating neglected or injured pets alongside matching up prospective dog owners with the perfect companions.
They have also been supporting pet owners with online classes and workshops and returned to TV screens on Thursday (March 11) with the latest series of The Dog House on Channel 4.
The pandemic has hit every charity hard though and Wood Green is no different, they have been running an urgent appeal to raise funds to be able to continue their vital work.

Another way to support the charity is by adopting a pet, due to the pandemic, they are only able to offer adoptions within a one hour radius of their Godmanchester base but that is good news for Peterborough residents. Here is a selection of the adorable dogs currently looking for new homes.

5. Princess (4 years 6 months)
ntroducing Princess. Princess is looking for a very specific, training minded home with a family who can understand her body language and read/respect what she is telling us. She is a very nervous little girl with people and new situations. Photo: Midlands

6. Juniper (3 years 1 months)
Meet Juniper. As you can see from the photo he can be a little wary with new people but he does make friends quickly, especially when there is food involved. Little tip, do not leave any food out, he is an opportunist. Photo: Midlands

7. Bryson (9 years 5 months)
Meet Bryson, a beautiful brindle man. Bryson has so, so much love to give to his new owners; he is a super snuggler, loves to play and makes you laugh with his big personality! Bryson is super clever and has been doing some excellent training whilst on foster. He has come a long way since his time in kennels where he was very stressed. Photo: Midlands

8. Suzie (9 years 11 months)
Suzie is a gorgeous German Shepherd cross Bull Mastiff. She is looking for a home where she will not see many dogs on her walks, she is very worried by them and is having some training to allow you both to avoid them. As she cannot go off lead she is looking for a private, secure 6ft fenced garden with no neighbouring dogs please. Photo: Midlands
