The Peterborough Telegraph is running regular spotlights on cats that need new homes to support the work of animal charities in the Peterborough area.
The Peterborough and District Branch of the RSPCA do so much to rescue, nurture and subsequently rehome all kinds of pets in the area. They have continued to operate throughout lockdown and within a small radius are still permitted to rehome these animals.
Below are a selection of those that have been rescued and are in need of their forever home.

Honey is a lovely cat and was much loved by her previous owner who has passed away. Just to begin with she stands up for herself but, once she knows you, all this disappears and she's very affectionate and vocal. She stands up on her hind legs for attention and likes being made a fuss of. She has come from a quiet adult only home and we are looking for a similar home for her with no other pets - she doesn't like other cats and we think she'd be best not living with a dog. This lovely young lady came to the centre along with her babies suffering from cat flu. Whilst with us she needed quite alot of treatment as she was still feeding her kittens and having to cope with being unwell herself.Luckily she responded very well to treatment and now that her kirttens have been weaned off of her she is ready to find the loving home she deserves. Jo is a very loving cat and she is always ready to have a fuss from whoever is willing to stop and give her one because of this we think she should be ok with chiildren that are used to being around animals. Because she has had cat flu she will have to go as an only cat in the home.She will need a room where she can go to settle when she first arrives home and where she can go if she needs her own space. We are looking for people experienced with cats to adopt Luxor. He is a nervous boy, and is particularly nervous of hand movements. But he does enjoy a fuss, and he purrs and is a very loving cat. Luxor is good-natured and loving but something in his past has made him nervous of hands. So he needs patient owners who can help him become less worried and allow him to express his affectionate nature more freely. We think he will do best in an adult only home with no children or other pets. He will need to be kept indoors for three or four months so that he can become really relaxed in his new home with kind and gentle people. Photo: Midlands

Roger arrived at the centre after living in a multi-cat home. He is now looking to spend the remainder of his life as an only cat. Roger is a sweet older gentleman and is more than happy to have a fuss and then watch the world go by. He enjoys sleeping and observing everything that is going on around him and he especially likes a tasty treat from your hand. Although he generally has a nice nature, Roger can sometimes be a little grumpy and may need some space if things get a little too much for him. Any potential adopters will need to be mindful of this and be understanding when he has had enough. We feel that Roger would prefer to be an only pet where he can have all the attention (or not) to himself, and he would benefit from a quieter home so he can settle in at his own space.
