The Peterborough Telegraph is running regular spotlights on dogs that need new homes to support the work of animal charities in the Peterborough area.
The Peterborough and District Branch of the RSPCA do so much to rescue, nurture and subsequently rehome dogs in the area. They have continued to operate throughout lockdown and within a small radius are still permitted to rehome these animals.
Below are a selection of those that have been rescued and are in need of their forever home.
To find more details on each dog and to search for more rescue animals, visit www.rspca.org.uk/findapet/rehomeapet/process.
The RSPCA are funded entirely by public donations and receive no government money and therefore rely on the generosity of the public. Anyone wishing to support their work do so via www.rspca.org.uk/getinvolved/donate.

5. Smokey
Smokey was previously reserved, however his reservation has fallen through and he needs a very special new owner. Smokey hasn't had the best start in life, possibly living outdoors, but that hasn't stopped him being a lovely friendly bouncy boy. You will need to be an experienced owner, used to reward based training and have time to give this lovely boy all the time that you would give a pup, as he would benefit from going back to basics. He is a little cautious with other dogs. Photo: Midlands

6. Ghost
Ghost is looking for an active family who can provide him with the stimulation and exercise he needs, as well as a home with a garden to play off lead with all his favourite toys! Ghost walks well on a loose lead once he gets going and is also halti trained, however, applicants must consider his size and potential strength as he is a large breed and weighs 42kg. 7. Jana
Jana is very clever and learns quickly, especially if there is the promise of a tasty treat as a reward. She is loving and likes spending time with human friends, being given fuss and attention. Jana always wears a muzzle when she’s on her walks, because she is not keen on her canine counterparts. Photo: Midlands

8. Chip
Chip is a 6/7 year old male Australian Cattle Dog, looking for a special foster home or permanent home. Chip is very people (and ball ) focused - as you would expect from a Cattle dog! He is a lovely boy, who adores people and is very happy to engage with playtime and training. Sadly, he has been in at least three homes in his life, and we need to find his perfect match.
