The Peterborough Telegraph is running regular spotlights on cats that need new homes to support the work of animal charities in the Peterborough area.
The Peterborough and District Branch of the RSPCA do so much to rescue, nurture and subsequently rehome all kinds of pets in the area. They have continued to operate throughout lockdown and within a small radius are still permitted to rehome these animals.
Below are a selection of those that have been rescued and are in need of their forever home.
To find more details on each cat and to search for more rescue animals, visit www.rspca.org.uk/findapet/rehomeapet/process.
The RSPCA are funded entirely by public donations and receive no government money and therefore rely on the generosity of the public. Anyone wishing to support their work do so via www.rspca.org.uk/getinvolved/donate.

5. Gooseberry - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed (1 year)
Gooseberry is a year old female. She is looking for a very special home where she can gradually gain her confidence. She will need to be allowed to settle and feel safe in her own time and not be rushed. It is essential that her new home be quiet and calm and preferably adult-only. However, we will consider experienced cat homes with older teenage children. Gooseberry could potentially live with another cat. Photo: Midlands

6. Graham - Domestic shorthair crossbreed (3 years)
We have now discovered Graham does not like women (except his carer Sally ). He's a lovely cat but he turns on females for some bizarre reason, maybe he's been mistreated by one in the past - who knows? We realise it's not going to be easy but he needs a male only home and one without children or other pets. He's about 3 years old and is in good health. He will want outside access at some point so needs a safe home away from main roads. Photo: Midlands

7. Rhino - Domestic Shorthair crossbreed (7 years)
Gorgeous Rhino had been a stray for some time. He was rescued by an inspector and brought into branch care. He is around 7 years old. Rhino loves company and curling up on a warm lap. He could live with children over the age of 10 but can't live with other cats. Photo: Midlands

8. Stroller - Domestic Longhair crossbreed (5 years)
This handsome boy is Stroller! He arrived into our care after being found straying with no home to call his own. After spending sometime with us here at the centre receiving some much needed TLC his ready to look for his new family. Stroller is a very sweet and calm natured cat. When he first came into us he was covered in very large tight matts, these have since been shaved off to make him more comfortable and he will need regular grooming to make sure his fur stays knot free in the future.
