Massed choirs perform Requiem
The piece will be performed by Peterborough Cathedral Choir, Youth Choir and Festival Chorus with Peterborough Choral Society and the chamber orchestra Queen’s Park Sinfonia on Saturday, March 12, at 7.30pm.
The soloists will be Anita Watson, soprano; Jeanette Ager, mezzo; Christopher Steele, tenor; and Andrew Mayor, bass. The conductor is Cathedral Director of Music, Steven Grahl

Before then The Malcolm Sargent Concert - Rossini: Petite Messe Solennelle - will be performed in the cathedral on Saturday, March 5 at 7.30pm.

Hide AdEvery three years the Stamford Endowed Schools Choral Society and the Stamford Choral Society join forces for a concert at the cathedral in recognition of the links between Stamford and the great conductor, Sir Malcolm Sargent.
This year they perform Rossini’s ‘Petite Messe Solennelle’, which is famously neither little, solemn nor especially liturgical in spirit.
The Chameleon Arts Orchestra will accompany the singers.
The soloists are Jenny Saunders (soprano), Cerys Purser (mezzo soprano), Mark Chaundy (tenor), and James Newby (bass) and the conductor is Giles Turner.
