Plans for new 75 home Peterborough development approved

Final approval has been granted for a new 75-home development in Peterborough.

Minster Property Group has received planning permission from the city council to begin building the new homes on land At Hempsted East, north Of Hicks Lane.

An outline application had previously been approved, but the final details including the appearance of the homes and landscaping have now been given consent, meaning building works can begin.

The development will be reached from an access road leading from Trelowen Way, close to London Road.

A “large area” of public open space and habitat areas have also been promised at the site which has been earmarked for homes as part of Peterborough’s Local Plan.

Under the plans, there will be 34 two-bedroom properties, as well 29 three-bedroom homes, four which have four bedrooms and eight maisonettes with a single bedroom.

The land is said to be currently vacant.

The application submitted to the council stated: “The proposals comprise an attractive development which responds positively to the character of the local area.”
