Peterborough residents get into the Christmas spirit early this year with these wonderful displays

Residents across Peterborough have been injecting some Christmas spirit into these tough times by putting their decorations up early this year

For many there may not have been much to celebrate this year as the pandemic hit but with Christmas less than a month away the age old argument of when you should put your decorations up has gone out of the window. More and more people have used their extra free-time to put together bigger and better displays than normal to inject a bit of Christmas cheer.

One such couple are Terry and Eszther Wartnaby who have decked out the front of their house in Parnwell.

Eszter said: “We first started going big on the outside decorations three years ago and use more and more each year. We’ve always loved Christmas and how it makes people happy.

“Obviously everyone is a bit down at the moment so we decided to put them up and we’re more than happy for people to come round and see our display and hopefully spread a bit of happiness.”

Many other people have also been getting into the festive swing of things and below is a gallery of some of those images.
