TV star chef hosts new cookery programme from Cambridgeshire Deaf Association

Sunday Kitchen Live is believed to be the first show of its kind to be made, with comments welcomed and video calls from the audience in sign language.
‘Punk Chef’ Scott Garthwaite, who has worked at Michelin starred restaurants in the UK and has a reputation as one of the UK’s best known deaf TV chefs, is the host.

Hide AdIn the first episode, which attracted 3,500 views in its first 24 hours, he is joined by deaf England footballer and presenter Lucindha Lawson where he cooks a vegan dish with celeriac, black garlic and Puy lentils.
The show is streamed live from Cambridgeshire Deaf Association’s building in Cambridge. The charity also has offices in Huntingdon and Peterborough.
Chief executive Andrew Palmer said: “We’re so pleased with the show. We’ve been looking for new ways to keep people entertained in sign language and this show, which we think is a first, is great.
“It’s a combination of food, health, interesting interviews and news. The show mirrors the popular live cooking genre on mainstream TV and finally brings the format to Britain’s sign language population.”
The show will be broadcast every week while a sponsor for the show is found.
