Peterborough’s Vegan kitchen in the running for National Kebab Awards
Peterborough’s favourite socially conscious eatery – Resist! Vegan Kitchen – has bagged a semi-final place in a prestigious national industry awards.
Resist! Vegan Kitchen have been recognised as one of the best kebab creators in this year’s ninth British Kebab Awards 2021, run in association with Just Eat and supported by The Kebab Alliance.
Gareth Ellison, the man behind Resist!, said: “To be the only Peterborough kebab business in the running is wild.... and the fact we’re fully vegan shows exactly what food we can create without cruelty. Award winning foods.
“If people could focus on where homeless people get their protein from rather than where vegans do, the world would be a better place. We simply focus on providing the best cruelty free food and service we possibly can, while holding that same level of importance to human rights and local issues.”
“It’s been a rough year for so many businesses, but more importantly its been extremely hard for so many families and a lot of that has sadly been unnecessary. We are extremely grateful for the support we receive from the good people of this city who also want change.”
This is yet another high for the politically-charged Peterborough positive team. It rose to TripAdvisor No.1 Peterborough restaurant in 2019 during pop-up spells at The Key Theatre and Broadway Theatre, as well as finalists in the UK Street Food awards and more.
Now, after various breaks and lockdowns during this ongoing pandemic, Resist! Vegan Kitchen will be back very soon with a brand new team and energy for Peterborough, as they also expand and open in King’s Lynn also.
The final award ceremony will take place at The Park Plaza, Westminster Bridge Hotel, on October 26.
