Peterborough restaurant brings back Mother’s Day for those that missed out

Lockdown caused us to miss a great deal, especially in restaurants. The season for local asparagus came and went, Jersey Royal potatoes won’t be served now until next year and of course, mothers across Peterborough could only enjoy their special day at home.

While no restaurant can force the return of growing seasons, in an imaginative move The Cherry House at Werrington is bringing back Mother’s Day on Sunday, August 16 .

The original menu planned for March will be brought back for a safe dining experience for mothers and their loved ones.

Starters include timbale of finest Scottish smoked salmon filled with a poached salmon mousse, garnished with tiger prawns, Marie Rose & guacamole. Six main course options include Barbary duck breast served on a cushion of buttered kale accompanied by a raspberry vinegar & pink peppercorn sauce.

Despite extending hours of service, the number of covers at the restaurant has been reduced to maintain social distancing, so an early reservation is essential.
