Peterborough pub to welcome back customers with outdoor breakfast

Regulars at a Peterborough pub  are so keen to return on Monday that they have already started booking- for breakfast.

The Woolpack at Stanground has already started getting ready for when outdoor hospitality is permitted, preparing seating in its gin garden and 18 metre long marquee down by the river,  which landlord David Nightingale had installed last summer between lockdowns and can seat more than 100 people.

”We have done really well with our takeaway food from Friday to Sunday, particularly Sunday roasts, which we introduced to keep the chef busy and to make sure people remembered that we were still here,” said David.

”Our regular customers have been very supportive.”

He added: “There has been a lot of interest in when we are allowed to reopen on April 12. We have had people booking in for breakfast on Monday, so we will be opening at 10.30am, and on the first Saturday back we have a live band - Last Minute Brigade - playing in the marquee and that is already fully booked from 6pm.”
