Ash Sarman, who opened The Good Stuff cafe and takeaway on Cowgate in the city centre three years ago, says he just wanted to give something back to the dedicated NHS workers dealing with the pandemic.

Ash is open for those wanting food and drinks to help with their healthy lifestyles, but came up with the idea of the drinks for the hospital workers because he knew from a friend how difficult things were on the covid wards.

“People are working none-stop,” said Ash, a former bodybuilder who knows a thing or two about eating healthily. “There will be times when they struggle to stop to eat, never mind eat or drink something healthy. I got in touch with someone at ICU and said I wanted to do what I could - it is just a little something to show support for the NHS.”

Ash said the fresh juices - made of ginger, carrots, beetroot and other beneficial ingredients - he has supplied for the past couple of weeks were packed with vitamins and designed to boost the immune system.
