A first look at Peterborough’s Japanese sushi and grill restaurant

Peterborough has a new sushi and grill restaurant - Inari- and the Peterborough Telegraph’s photographer has paid a visit.

The restaurant - on Broadway - opened and operated as a takeaway during lockdown, before closing for a comprehensive refit. Customers had the first opportunity to dine in midweek and executive chef Regimantas Trimakas said it had gone down very well. “I am very pleased with the way it looks and our customers have said how comfortable and cozy they feel dining with us,” he said. “It is a new thing for Peterborough and while people know about sushi we think people must try the dishes from our robata grill. We are buying meat from local farms, which is important, and we marinate for 48 hours before cooking - the flavours are amazing. And we are working now on our dessert menu - there will be 11 desserts and we have a pastry chef who has worked under a Bake Off The Professionals finalist, so they will be special.” Inari, open Tuesday to Sunday, seats 30-plus indoors with a couple of tables outside. It is taking part in the Eat Out To Help Out scheme. Takeaways are available by collection, ordered over the phone or online at www.inarisushigrill.co.uk
