And from the archives we have come across the finalists from 2002 - who wowed the judges and a noisy audience at the big night held at Liquid nightclub in New Road.
Finalists were Jamie Osborne, Graham Townson, Glen Hasdell, Sharaq Mohammed, Ivan Van Der Westhuizen, Darren Gloster, Antonio De Falco and Duncan McDermid; Patrizia Mattera, Gemma Haycox, Michelle Cunningham, Lucy Colesnic, Simona Knowles, Sam Flickling, Joni Audas and Louise Nicholls.
For the record the winners were Duncan McDermid (21), from Longthorpe, and Gemma Haycox (18), from Werrington, who won a year-long contract with DK Model Management, based in Sheffield, and spent a day at the world-famous Wella Studio in the heart of London, preparing for a professional photo shoot.
