Nostalgia and memories at the Rollers in Peterborough reunion
For a couple of years in the late 80s and early 90s, the Rollers skating rink in Peterborough was the place to be seen.
And in June – 35 years after it left many people broken hearted and angry by closing – memories will be rekindled at a special event planned for Skaters in Wisbech.

The Rollers Peterborough Reunion, a fun night of nostalgia and music from back in the day, will take place on Saturday, June 20,
The venue, off Fengate, with the Big R ten pin bowling ally next door, enjoyed the top of the range sound and lighting systems along with its high end maple wood floor, and was very much loved by thousands in Peterborough who often skated there two or three times a week.

"It was a meeting place for children and adults and still holds precious memories for so many,” said Chris Holland, one of the original Rollers DJs and now PCR FM presenter who will be playing the music once more at the reunion.
“It will be an evening where all those that enjoyed skating together can come together once again and head back in time,” added Chris.
“Every song played on the night will be from that time, transporting everyone back to 1989/90. This promises to be a fun night of nostalgia and memories, bearing in mind most people will be in their 50s and 60s now so may not be quite as nimble as back then. And they have quite possibly not been on wheels since, so this could be quite eventful.”
