This week’s Looking Back features another of Peterborough’s key city centre streets – Long Causeway.

The picture showing the junction of Midgate and Long Causeway was probably taken in the 1960s.

The Barrett building is a familiar landmark but other than that it is barely recognisable as today’s modern pedestrianised street.

The second picture shows Morleys shop which was taken in 1964.

Does anybody remember it? What did it sell?

The final picture is a view looking from Market Place/Cathedral Square down Long Causeway.

The Gates Memorial is in the foreground.

Pedestrians and cyclists and a splendid tram share the road.
