Looking Back: A very festive Queensgate
My main picture shows a very busy Queensgate shopping centre in December around1984 and compare the changes in my 2025 image, writes Peterborough street photographer Chris Porsz.
In front of British Home Stores were the wooden benches in the sunken gardens. BHS closed in 2016 and is now River Island and T K Maxx.
The Reflections restaurant accessed by stairs and the glass lift closed in 2015 and I see the K shoes shop with Etams below.
The fountains were very popular and the coins thrown in were collected with a fishing net for a Queensgate charity.
