Slimmer from Peterborough becomes a magazine cover star - and now plans to help others to shed the pounds
A slimmer from Peterborough is the proud cover star of a national magazine’s Christmas edition.
Sandie Simms lost 4st through her local Slimming World group – and now her success story has been featured in Slimming World magazine.
The 56 year-old marketing director has managed to keep the weight off for more than two years – which also lead to her being chosen to front SW’s national autumn campaign.
Before losing the weight, Sandie said she had “tried every diet going” - even briefly trying weight loss injections.

"The results were short-lived as the weight crept back on when I stopped the medication,” Sandie explains.
Joining her local Hampton SW group gave her something completely different - weekly support and practical tools to change her mindset and everyday food choices.
“Each week, I’ve learned more about my habits and how to change them in a way that feels natural and lasting,” she said. “Now, I make positive choices because I understand what works for me. That’s what makes the difference. It’s incredibly motivating to be surrounded by people who understand the ups and downs of weight loss.”
From feeling self-conscious about photos and struggling with her confidence, Sandie is now a visible, national ‘face’ of Slimming World - representing ordinary members on magazine shelves and in campaign materials across the UK, while proudly flying the flag for Peterborough.
SW Consultant Scott Smith, who runs the Hampton Slimming World group comments: “It’s really excitingly that Sandie has been featured on the front cover of the Christmas edition of the Slimming World magazine.
“And even more excitingly, she has now decided she wants to help others to achieve their dreams by becoming a Slimming World consultant and re-launching the Sawtry evening group from January 6, 2026.”
