Pride of Whittlesey award winners announced

The winners of the Pride of Whittlesey awards have been announced.

Over the past four months the search has been on for those who have stood out in Whittlesey and the surrounding villages who should be recognised for their work during 2020.

Organisers Fenland Youth Radio thanked Whittlesey Town Council for its “magnificent support,” adding: “It was a project of four months from start to finish and the community of Whittlesey and the villages were fully on board by submitting 50 nominations and 120 messages of support.”

Robert Windle of Fenland Youth Radio said: “It was a mammoth team effort to organise the event, but in these difficult times we were delighted to have the opportunity to recognise the great work of so many individuals and community groups.

“Our special thanks go to the Mayor of Whittlesey Cllr David Mason and the 10 great sponsors as well as Young Technicians who filmed and produced an excellent awards film, and finally to the community of Whittlesey and the villages for their nominations and messages of support.”
