The report gives an overview of the performance of these healthcare providers based on

- Patient experience

- Clinical quality

- Patient’s outcomes and safety

- Efficiency indicators

- The number of patients treated.

Based on the results, OSSH was ranked 7th out of 556 hospitals across the country, both NHS and Private delivering services to NHS patients.

The data gathered by IHPN measures hospitals in order of patient’s responses to the Friends and Family Test. The organisations were ranked by those with the highest proportion of patients ‘Extremely Likely’ to recommend their provider to friends and family.

OSSH’s Medical Director Ahmed Shair said: “We are delighted by the huge recognition of the quality of our services as published in the IHPN report.

“It is a testament to the dedication and hard work of our staff and their endeavours to deliver a personal, compassionate, high quality service to our patients.

“We were not aware that this report was being compiled, so we were blown away to see us in the top 7 providers out of 556 hospitals.”

Kate Strohman, the hospital’s Registered Manager, added: “It came as very welcome news in these challenging times, to receive the outcome of this report.

“Thanks to the outstanding team at OSSH for their continuous hard work in achieving the hospital’s aim to deliver top class, patient centred care and thank you to all of our patients, past and present, for their endorsements.

“It is a pleasure to be able to make a positive contribution to our NHS and private patients both locally and from further afield.”

Speaking of her own experiences of working at OSSH, Samantha Kirk, OSSH’s Lead Nurse, said: “I have worked at OSSH for the last 11 years delivering a personalised high standard of care to acute orthopaedic postoperative patients.

“OSSH is a joy to work at because as a nurse you can spend time with each and every patient giving them the individualised care they deserve and this is reflected in our patient surveys.

“I can honestly say that every time I leave a shift I have complete job satisfaction knowing our professional team has made our patients feel special, well cared for and more importantly

receiving excellent treatment”.
