Peterborough dentist holds special session to encourage children to maintain good oral hygiene

Youngsters were given a reminder of the importance of good oral hygiene at a special session at a Peterborough dentists.

As part of an ongoing community project Bupa dental care in Herlington put on a children’s open day, offering youngsters a free NHS check up and one course of treatment to help meet the growing demand for NHS dentistry.

Although the Herlington practice’s books are already full, the staff gave up their time to help the local community learn more about the importance of healthy teeth and gums.

Nurses manned reception area offering parents and children advice and also ran a colouring competition.

erlington practice manager Karen Fox said: “ We were delighted by the response to our open morning which attracted over 130 children and their parents, anxious to know more about caring for their teeth and the service we can provide.”
