North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs both hospitals, said: “We are looking for a piano – in fact, two! – to put in Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke hospitals for staff, patients and visitors to sit and play when they pass by.

“There has been much research into the benefit of music on mental wellbeing, and the positive emotional response that is generated from listening to music. It is known to release natural endorphins and promote positive behaviour and wellness.

“If you have, or know of someone that has, a piano to donate to the hospital, please get in touch with the communications team at [email protected].”
