Amanda Pell held a charity bingo night at her local social club in Whaplode Drove, near Crowland, to raise the money. As one of many women invited every three years for screening, Amanda’s cancer was spotted with help of a mammogram machine.

Michelle Harris, advanced practitioner in the breast unit said: “Fortunately Mrs Pell did attend her routine screening appointment where her cancer was identified.

“This early diagnosis is why it’s important to attend regular screening as she wouldn’t have felt anything different herself, as it was very small.

Amanda, who is pictured with Michelle, Sally Hibbitt and Rachel Rawlinson said: “I have been blown away by the professionalism and kindness of all the staff. Fundraising is a way of thanking the unit for all they have done as well as being a good coping mechanism.”
