Visiting suspended on Stamford Hospital ward due to COVID outbreak

Visiting has been stopped at Stamford Hospital’s John Van Geest Ward following a COVID 19 outbreak.

Visiting is temporarily restricted at Stamford Hospital’s John Van Geest ward following a “cluster outbreak” of Covid-19.

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Stamford and Rultand, Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals the restriction was a “preventative measure.

A spokesman said: “The restriction on visiting is a preventative measure to allow for swabbing and investigations to be completed and visiting will not be permitted until we can be sure that there are no further cases identified.”

There will be a daily review of the situation, with visiting allowed as soon as it is safe to do so.
