Two more patients with coronavirus die at hospitals run by Peterborough trust

Two more coronavirus deaths have been confirmed at the trust which runs Peterborough City Hospital.

One new death is at Peterborough City Hospital and one at Hinchingbrooke.

Today Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 259 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 103 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 156 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patients’ families and loved ones at this difficult time.”

The deaths announced today are the first announced by the trust for a number of weeks

Today a spokesman for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust said they were unable to say how many patients with COVID-19 were currently receiving treatment at Peterborough City Hospital, or other hospitals run by the trust. They also said they were unable to say when the last confirmed death related to COVID-19 occurred when asked by The Peterborough Telegraph.
