Tragic milestone as 150th coronavirus death recorded at Peterborough City Hospital

A further death related to coronavirus has been recorded at Peterborough City Hospital - the first death recorded in a week.

Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Peterborough City, Hinchingbrooke and Stamford and Rultand Hospitals said: “I can confirm that sadly, 248 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 98 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 150 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions. They had all tested positive for Covid-19.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust had not recorded a COVID death at their hospitals since last Monday.

There have been 1,334 positive coronavirus tests in the city, an increase of 69 compared to the same point last week.
