Three more COVID deaths at Peterborough hospital trust

Three more coronavirus patients have died at hospitals run by the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, it has been confirmed.

The total number of patients who have died at Peterborough City Hospital and Hinchingbrooke now stands at 221 - three up from yesterday.

However, there has been a revision of yesterday’s figures, with the number of people with the virus who have died at the Peterborough hospital now standing at 133 - one fewer than yesterday’s figures.

Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 221 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 88 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 133 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions. They had all tested positive for Covid-19.

“In the same period we have also successfully discharged 459 patients from our hospitals who were treated for Covid-19 and who are now recovering.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

Government figures show there have now been 431 positive cases in Peterborough.
