The seven Peterborough areas that are almost COVID free - and the eight to see an increase in cases in the past week.

One in three neighbourhoods in Peterborough are almost COVID free, new figures show - but eight have seen an increase in the past seven days.

Up to April 29, seven areas in the city saw two or fewer positive cases - meaning the Government does not publish information about rates in that area.

However, there were still eight areas to see an increase.

The biggest rise was seen in Stanground, where there were eight more cases than the previous week. Stanground also had the highest number of cases, with 10.

The highest rate in the city is in Werrington, with 107.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Overall, there were 98 cases in Peterborough - the same as the previous week - with a rate of 48.5. The rate is more than double the UK rate of 22.6.

The data shows there was only one COVID related death (withing 28 days of a positive test) in Peterborough in April, which occurred on April 16. Before then, the last death was on March 25. However, the data is occasionally updated as more up to date statistics are made available.
