The eight Peterborough neighbourhoods to record fewer than 10 positive COVID tests last week

Eight of the 22 Peterborough neighbourhoods recorded fewer than 10 positive COVID tests in the past week.

Government figures show that Longthorpe and Netherton recorded just four cases last week (the seven days up to February 25)- the lowest in the city. Dogsthorpe has the lowest rate of cases per 100,000 people, with a score of 52.8, well below the UK average.

The biggest drop in cases was seen in Mllfield and Bourges Boulevard, which saw 61 cases - 55 fewer than the previous week. However, it still has the highest number of cases and the highest rate (607.0). Last week it was revealed teh high rate in the district was partially down to a number of inmates at HMP Peterborough contracting the virus.

Peterborough as a whole saw 424 positive tests - 125 fewer than the previous week. The overall rate of 209.6 remains one of the highest in the country.

The government figures released last night show Peterborough has the fourth highest rate in England - behind Corby, Leicester and Fenland.
