The 18 Peterborough neighbourhoods to see a fall in COVID cases - and the four to see a rise

A total of 18 Peterborough neighbourhoods saw a fall in COVID cases last week - but four saw the number of cases increase.

The Government statistics show the biggest rise was seen in Dogsthorpe, where the number of positive cases increased by 19 to 25 (in the week ending March 4).

The area with the highest number of cases and the highest rate (57 positive tests and a rate of 567.2) remains Millfield and Bourges Boulevard - although there was a drop of four positive tests.

The high rate has been partially blamed on an outbreak in HMP Peterborough - although earlier this week Dr Liz Robin, director of public health for the city, said there had been a reduction in cases at the jail. The figures from the Government only record the number of cases in an area if it is three or above - and Bretton Park was the only area in the city to fall below that figure - meaning the rate and the number of cases - and how many it was reduced by - is not available.

Of the other areas to see a fall, the biggest drop was seen in Central Park and Orton Malbourne and Goldhay, which both saw 18 fewer cases than the previous week.
