The Nursery will now shut for a deep clean after the positive test, which affected someone in the ‘school community.’

The rest of the school is not affected.

The nursery will be closed to all staff, children and visitors for the next two weeks, during which time children will continue to receive their education at home via online learning tools and work set by Nursery teachers.

The School will contact pupils and parents once they are safely able to reopen the Nursery and allow children back onto the premises.

Adrian Meadows, Headmaster at The Peterborough School, said: “Unfortunately we have closed the Nursery today following the news that a member of our community has tested positive for COVID-19. The whole School sends our best wishes to them for a speedy recovery during this unsettling time. We have informed pupils, parents, staff and recent visitors to the site of the news and have started a deep clean of our campus during which time our

Nursery site will remain closed.

“We hope to reopen when it is appropriate and safe to do so, so we are able to continue our provision for Key Worker children during the ongoing mass school closures.”
