Peterborough hospital trust announce further COVID-19 deaths

Three more COVID-19 patents have died at Peterborough City Hospital, it has been confirmed.

The tragic total now stands at 115 deaths at the hospital since March 24.

There have also been three further deaths at Hingchingbrooke, bringing the total to 70 - and 185 in hospitals run by North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust.

However, more than 370 patients have been discharged from the hospitals after making a recovery.

Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 185 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 70 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 115 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions. They had all tested positive for Covid-19.

“In the same period we have also successfully discharged 372 patients from our hospitals who were treated for Covid-19 and who are now recovering.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”
