Peterborough firework display will go ahead despite tier 3 announcement

A Christmas firework display planned for this weekend will still go ahead despite Peterborough moving into tier 3 tomorrow.

The drive in event is taking place at the East of England Arena on Sunday (December 20) with doors opening at 4pm.

The display has been organised by the same team who put on the display for Bonfire Night in November.

This weekend there is also a drive in cinema at the same venue, with classic Christmas films including The Grinch, Die Hard, Love Actually, Elf and Home Alone all being shown over Saturday and Sunday.

While more restrictions are in place in Peterborough, drive in events are allowed, and strict social distancing will be in place at the two events.

Tickets for the firework display have sold out.
