Patients seeking help with minor injuries are encouraged to attend Urgent Treatment Centres in Peterborough or Grantham or the Minor Injuries Unit in Oakham. Alternatively, they can ring NHS 111 where trained clinical staff will be able to advise which service is more appropriate.

Phil Walmsley, Chief Operating Officer for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Stamford and Rutland, Peterborough City and Hinchingbrooke Hospitals, said: “We have decided to keep the Minor Injuries Unit at Stamford and Rutland Hospital closed during this time. This will help us maintain the hospital as a covid-free site so we can continue to prioritise elective procedures and urgent outpatient appointments safely at Stamford and Rutland Hospital.
