Hundreds brave spring chills to enjoy outdoor swim everyday since Peterborough Lido re-opened

The popular pool was able to open its doors again last Monday after COVID forced it to close for the whole of 2020.

And while cold temperatures have hit the city over the past few days, the wintry weather has not put off brave swimmers, with scores booking sessions every day.

A spokeswoman for Vivacity, who run the pool, said there were around 350 bookings every day in the first week.

The spokeswoman said; “Our lane swims sold out really quickly so we have now introduced a second lane. We’ve had really great feedback, despite the recent cold weather, I think people are just glad to be back swimming and exercising.”
