Further COVID death announced at Peterborough City Hospital

Another COVID-19 patient has sadly died at Peterborough City Hospital, it has been confirmed.

North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Peterborough City, Hinchingbrooke and Stamford & Rutland Hospitals, said there had been one further death at Peterborough City Hospital.

Caroline Walker, Chief Executive, for North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, said: “I can confirm that sadly, 247 patients being cared for in our Trust have passed away since we began reporting Covid-19-related deaths. There have been 98 at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 149 at Peterborough City Hospital. All patients were aged 30 to 98 years old and had pre-existing health conditions. They had all tested positive for Covid-19.

“Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time.”

Figures released last week showed thee are about 19 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 people in Peterborough. That number had fallen from about 28 the previous week.
