A spokesman for Nene Park Trust said: "With the news today of Peterborough moving into Covid Tier 3 as of Saturday 19th December, we thought it important to update our visitors on what is happening in the Park.

"The Visitor Centre will continue to remain open offering its fantastic Christmas range of gifts and other items. Staff will also be on hand to answer customer queries as normal.

"Our Cafés will be moving back to offering a takeaway service, and no indoor food or drink will be available.

"Outdoor seating at the Cafes will also not be able to be used, although there is ample seating throughout the Park at other locations.

"All our toilet facilities will remain open.

"We ask all our visitors to take extra care by remembering to use the hand sanitiser facilities, wearing face masks when entering any buildings and keeping social distancing in place.

"Please remember you can meet with others in public outdoor places, such as parks, but only in groups of up to 6 people. You should maintain social distancing from anyone not in your household or support bubble.

"It is also recommended to minimise travel between different Covid tier areas, so we advise local travel only.

"Nene Park continues to play an important role in providing a safe place for people to exercise, meet and get some fresh air. We hope you will help us in keeping the Park safe over the Christmas period and wish you an enjoyable visit."
