A Royal Mail spokesperson said: “Throughout the pandemic every decision we make puts the health of our people and customers first.

“Two of our colleagues tested positive for coronavirus at the Ortons Southgate Delivery Office before Christmas. They are now at home and we wish them a speedy recovery.

“Less than 10 colleagues are now self isolating as a result of test and trace guidance at the delivery office. We are taking necessary precautions and preventative measures.

“All mail in the Peterborough area is being delivered as normal.”
